Foods You Should Eat Regularly

What you consume on a daily basis is so optimal to your overall health. We are not going to encourage crazy diets and fasting, but we are going to talk about foods you should be eating regularly. These are also known as 'superfoods', as they will leave you filling satisfied, energized, and positively benefit your health.

Blueberries - Blueberries, along with other types of berries are the go-to fruit. They are a great source of fiber, which helps keep your digestive system healthy and working properly. Berries can be enjoyed over some oats, or yogurt which is also great for you! Blueberries are also packed with anthocyanin and antioxidants that can help with memory.

Greens - Spinach is the best green you could eat. It is full of plant-based omega-3 fatty acids which help reduce the risk of heart diseases and stroke. If you can eat 1 cup of fresh spinach a day, you will see the ultimate results. Not a fan of spinach? Kale is also a great veggie to eat regularly and has been trending the past few years. You can find lots of great kale salads at health conscious restaurants but be cautious on the dressings and toppings mixed in. Broccoli is another superfood that is full of Vitamins A, C, and K which helps with bone health.

Walnuts - Nuts are good for you but walnuts are the most beneficial! They are loaded with Omega-3s, anti-inflammatory polyphenols, and protein. A serving of walnuts—about 1 ounce, or 7 nuts—is good anytime, but especially as a post-workout recovery snack.

Beetroots - Beetroots, you either love em or hate em, but eating them daily has great benefits. Studies have shown that consuming beetroots regularly can boost brain activity, improve aerobic performance and help stop arthritis. These days you can find a selection of delicious beetroot juices at your local grocery store which are practically just as nutritious as eating them raw. Just make sure your juice is not packed with unneeded extra sugar.

Oats - Oats might be your favorite on this list and yes they are full of carbs but because of their fiber, the release of their sugars is slowed down. They also have 10 grams of protein for 1/2 cup serving which helps fuel your body with energy. Mix oats with fresh berries for a perfect start to your day.

Try mixing in a couple of these items into your daily nutrition and you will start seeing and feeling positive results.

Holistic Health Trends for 2018

We are four months into 2018. Everyone gets excited for the New Year and a fresh start but usually by now people start going back to their not so good habits and normal routine. We are here to give you some of the top health trends happening this year to get you back on track. Hopefully one or some of these will grab your attention, so you can start integrating them into your life. Here's to a healthy and happy, rest of 2018!

1. Moringa is on the rise! Moringa is known to fight inflammation and also has twice the amount of protein and three times more iron than spinach. It has large amounts of calcium, potassium, and Vitamin a. Surely something so nutritious and healthy must not taste good, right? Fortunately not. Moringa tastes delicious, which means that the food industry is rushing to capitalize on it.

2. Everyone is Coo Coo for Kombucha! Stomach health is usually not the first area people focus on fixing, until there is an obvious issue. An unhealthy gut can cause many health problems including arthritis, hair loss and even mental disorders like depression. Kombucha can help heal the gut naturally and has been trending this year.

So how does it work?! Kombucha is a fermented drink, usually made with black tea and natural sugars. The fermentation process creates a healthy bacteria, known as probiotics, which can help line your digestive tract and support your immune system. To reap the full benefits of this powerful ingredient you should aim to drink it once a day but be sure to try it out first before committing to one a day.

3. Self Care is not a luxury, it's a necessity! This year is about looking at your health on a deeper level and taking the time to care for it. It's about finding balance and about making healthier choices when you see your self getting maxed out. There are many ways to do this, from regular journaling, meditation and walking, to eating cleaner and living a toxic-free lifestyle.

4. Skin-care products that help guard us against UV Rays, Pollutants, and Technology are trending! These days your skin is regularly exposed to blue lights from electronics, UV rays, and pollutants. Skincare products are now coming out with ingredients like lipids, ceramides, live bacteria and adaptogens to combat the effects of these. Jump on this bandwagon and look great while also blocking out those negative effects.

5. Stand up for good health! Standing desks increased in 2017, and 2018 is seeing even more standing trends. Prolonged periods of sitting are bad for your health; therefore, expect to see more “standing” opportunities at work, in waiting rooms, and even at home.

The Importance of Retreats

There are a broad range of types of retreats, but most people will first visualize going away to somewhere quiet and secluded when they hear 'retreat'. This can be the case but there are also some very active retreats with interaction with others, and physical activities like hiking or exploring a nearby town/landmark. Some popular types of retreats are yoga retreats, meditation retreats, religious retreats, company retreats, and spiritual retreats. Whichever retreat you decide to go on, there are great benefits to integrating these into your life. Here we will tell you 5 reasons why going on a retreat once in a while is beneficial to your life.

1. Changes Your Routine - Retreats are a great way to get away from your usual routine. They usually will have you take a step back from technology and will not have a strict agenda. For example, you might start with an optional yoga or meditation in the morning, followed by a light breakfast with others, break/rest time, a class or session, discussion, lunch, and followed by another activity and free time at night. A retreat is not meant to make you feel exhausted or stressed, and it will be a nice change from your normal routine.

2. Gets Your Inspired! With new surroundings, new people, and new ways of thinking and looking at life, there is no doubt you will get inspired. Retreats will usually respark that fire inside, and get you excited about life!

3. Will Help You Get Connected With Your Self - Since most retreats have you disconnect from technology, this will allow you to really connect with your own thoughts, feelings, and inner self. Hopefully you will experience a setting with little to no distractions so you can have that time to really focus on you, inside and out.

4. You Will Learn Something New - You will without a doubt leave your retreat, no matter what the topic, with some new knowledge. Whether it's a new physical or mental exercise, a new healthy recips, a tip on living a healthier lifestyle, or just a new way to go about your day...you will definitely leave your retreat with new knowledge you will most likely want to share.

5. You Will Leave Feeling Recharged - You will leave inspired, connected with yourself, and these will having you feeling recharged! Are you tired of your normal routine at work? Are you feel less and less inspired in your daily life? Are you bored with your surroundings? Retreats will get you out of your comfort zone, with new surroundings, new knowledge, and this will have you feeling like a new person! We hope this inspires you to go on a retreat of your liking this year. Stay tuned for retreat opportunities with Harmony Mountain and Inner Harmony Wellness Centers. Namaste.

What you should know about Nutritional Supplements

Nutritional supplements are intended to give you nutrients that you might not regularly be getting or getting enough of. They can include vitamins, minerals, meal supplements, herbs, sports nutrition products and even natural food supplements.

People use nutritional supplements for many purposes. They can be included in your diet to help the healing process during an illness or disease, to boost overall health and energy, improve immune system support to help reduce the risk of illness and age-related conditions and so much more.

We are big believers in all natural nutritional supplements and love the products by PRL Premier Research Lab. You can see a list of the different PRL products we offer HERE and below we list some of our most popular products and who would benefit from them. Plus, all of their products have 100% solvent-free vegetable capsules and ingredients are sourced from the finest qualified suppliers all over the world.

Do you ever find yourself feeling fatigued or your energy levels not as high as your would like? We recommend trying AdrenaVen.
Cordyceps sinensis is a famous adaptogenic mushroom that has been used for centuries for whole body support. The well known botanical, Eleuthero root (also called Siberian Ginseng), is also a well known adaptogen. Adrenal Pro™ provides a broad range of biocompatible botanical agents which offers a complex phytochemical profile for additional nutritional support.

Women, are you looking for a way to support your hormones or help with menoapause? We would recommend trying XenoStat. XenoStat™ is a xeno botanical formula that features Botanica Detox™, a key multi-marine sea vegetation formula, coupled with Botanica Support™ (a botanical biocompatible blend) to deliver a full nutrient spectrum for premier thyroid and hormone support. This unique supplement is rich in naturally occurring iodine, a mineral that is especially important in thyroid function.

*NOTE: XenoStat™ provides only natural ingredients and does not have standardized iodine added to it. It is assayed from batch to batch to provide the amount of iodine naturally occurring from its constituents.

Do you suffer from headaches? What about high cholesterol or chronic inflammation. This one supplement, Deltanol, can help all of these issues!

We call Deltanol™ the “21st century vitamin E.” This product features delta-tocotrienol, the delta fraction of the vitamin E family that has the most significant properties for cardiovascular and circulatory health. Deltanol™ features delta and gamma tocotrienols that have been naturally sourced from annatto. Annatto comes from the nutrition rich bean pods of the achiote tree‚ a majestic tree that grows mainly in warmer climates.
Tocotrienols have been well researched for their antioxidant activity which can fight free radicals to protect cells. Research supports evidence that tocotrienols may have even more powerful antioxidant properties than tocopherols (such as the typical type of vitamin E). Although normal metabolic processes of the body can contribute to certain amounts of free radicals, the body may also be exposed to an excess production of free radicals caused by ongoing exposure to pollutants, toxins and other stressful factors. High levels of free radicals in the body can damage cells and break down their membranes, which is why the remarkable antioxidant capability of tocotrienols is so valuable.
Unlike tocopherols, delta-tocotrienols have an excellent potential to provide support for healthy total cholesterol levels as well as LDL cholesterol levels already within the normal range. They also promote regulation of healthy metabolic functioning‚ and support the inner lining of blood vessels which are comprised of endothelial cells. Research also shows that tocotrienols promote healthy levels of coenzyme Q10 in the blood. In summary, this product offers superior lipid-based nutritional support.

Men, do you want to prevent prostate issues or do you want to help alleviate issues with you prostate and urination? We recommend trying ProstaVen.

This premier prostate formula features three key blends (Prosta-Pro Blend™, Beta-Pro Blend™ and Palmetto-Pro Blend™) in addition to the remarkable nutrient, resveratrol, that provide exceptional support for the prostate gland, including urinary tract health.

5 Ways to Detoxify the Body

It's important to detox your body by removing impurities from the blood in the liver, where toxins are processed for elimination. The body also eliminates toxins through the kidneys, intestines, lungs, lymphatic system, and skin. For most people, detoxing once a year is a great way to stay on track but it doesn't hurt to do this even more often.

Following a detox program can cleanse your body by stimulating the liver to drive toxins from the body, improving the circulation of the blood, promoting elimination through the kidneys and intestines, and refueling the body with healthy nutrients.

Here we share 5 ways to easily detoxify the body.

1. WATER is your best friend! Drink a full 8oz glass of water right when you wake up, and especially before you take a shower. This helps lower blood pressure and help with digestion.
Drink at least eight 8oz cups of water a day. It's helpful to get a refillable glass bottle that you can easily refill throughout the day with purified water.

2. Ligthen up your toxin load. Try your best to eliminate coffee, alcohol, smoking, saturated fats, and refined sugars. These are all toxins in the body that will keep you from your healing process. It's also important to minimize the use of chemical-based household cleaners and even personal healthcare products. Did you know that popular deodorants and toothpastes have toxins that are not good for your body? Try natural alternatives like Tom's of Maine deodorant and toothpaste.

3. Get Active - While you are detoxing, be sure to keep your body active by getting involved in a local yoga, pilates class, or other physical activity. Base your activeness on what you were doing prior to the detox, and tone it down a little since you will have a slight calorie deficit. Sweating will help you detox more by boosting circulation throughout the body. Even more helpful, exercise is known to help you feel happier, more energized, and less stressed!

4. Exfoliate - Skin brushing and oil massages will help exfoliate the toxins from your skin and refresh circulation. You can do this by getting a soft dry-brush and using before your bath or shower. The gentle exfoliation boosts circulation and also promotes new cell growth. Try adding Epsom salt to your bath which will help cleanse inside and out and get things gently moving in the colon.

5. Take a natural organic supplement like products by Premier Research Labs, which can help take your detox up a level. We proudly carry these products at Inner Harmony Wellness Center and on our website. They deliver uncompromising quality and effectiveness, providing100% non-toxic products designed to deliver the best. There are a wide range of supplements offered just for detoxing purposes, along with antioxidant support, bone and joint support, digestive support and more. Feel free to email us at inner harmonywellness88@gmail.com with any questions you may have. We are here to help. Namaste.

What is Biofeedback Quantum Healing?

Have you heard of Biofeedback Quantum Healing? Have you heard of it and then had no idea what it entailed? We will try to explain this healing system as simply as possible. This new form of healing started being used during the latter half of the 20th Century. It is much different than the traditional medicine of the Western World, as you know it.

Conventional medicine is based primarily on what can be observed and seen. This new system of energetic medicine is based on the principles of quantum energy, a new science based on the electromagnetic oscillations of patients.

SCIO (Scientific Consciousness Interface Operating System) Quantum Biofeedback is a type of advanced science that is proven to erase all types of blockages that can keep someone from living a healthy and fulfilling life. And how does it do this?!

The SCIO device is a state-of-the-art biofeedback system, which scans your body through magnetic headband, wrist, and ankle straps that you wear during the session. The magnetic straps connect to the device which is plugged into the computer software program. Once you answer some simple questions about your health and history, information is put into the system and the testing starts.

While sitting comfortably in a chair, it can detect stresses to your health and well-being. It does this by scanning the vibrations of the person, mapping the unique blueprint of the energy flow within the body. It will show any blockages or imbalances in the energy pattern and will ultimately strive to redress balance through electromagnetic waves or currencies. This process can help heal disease, injuries, allergies, and trauma. It can even help with negative thinking and stress that a normal detox usually cannot get to the root of. The SCIO technology today is a result of decades of research conducted in the field of bio-energetic and bio-response medicines of the human body.

But how?! Through the magnetic straps the machine can read you through electrodes. It will target the weak points and neutralize them. It does this by pulling information from your bio-energy and re-calibrating your with thousands of energy frequencies per second, over and over again. Detailed information is also revealed allowing for a deeper understanding of your condition.

The result? When it provides the body with real, healthy energy patterns, your wellness is enhanced and recovery from different ailments is facilitated. The body is able to heal itself in a safe and non-invasive way!

6 Benefits of Meditation

There are more than 75 benefits of meditation and we will highlight our favorite 6 here. First off, what is meditation? Meditation can be described as having mental concentration on something or when our mind imagines something that is peaceful. The overall goal of meditation is to slow the mind from stress and worry, and to achieve a state of profound, deep peace that occurs when the mind is calm and silent. So here's our favorite 6 benefits of meditation.

1. Meditation has been known to reduce stress. Mindfulness meditation is a style that involves sitting comfortably, focusing on your breathing, and bringing your attention to the present without getting off track and thinking about the past or future. If you find yourself worrying about things that have not even happened or are out of your control, perhaps you should try meditation. Some people find that learning mindfulness techniques and practicing them with a group is even more helpful. There is something very powerful about group meditation.

2. Meditating increases self-awareness, which we can all use more of in such a hectic jam-packed world we live in. Meditation is the key to super self-awareness because it is the best way to connect to your true self.

3. It improves concentration. Meditation centers you and helps you to stay focused in everything you do. Great concentration is related to the increased energy, meditation provides.

4. There are medical benefits to doing meditation consistently. It can help manage symptoms of anxiety, chronic pain, depression, heart disease, high blood pressure.

5. Meditation increases happiness! It has been proven that meditation can increase your levels of feel-good chemicals, like serotonin and endorphins. This can be accomplished in just a few minutes a day and doesn't cost anything. The best way to see results of increased happiness is to make a commitment to meditate regularly.

6. Lastly, meditation slows aging, and who wouldn't want that?! A study from Harvard showed that cognition seems to be preserved in meditators. In another study by Elizabeth Hope, meditators also showed to have longer telomeres, the caps on chromosomes indicative of biological age. It doesn't necessarily mean that mediators are going to live longer lives but it could lengthen due to reduced stress and effects it has on the body.

I don't know about you, but those 6 benefits of meditation are enough to motivate me to meditate on a regular basis.

EMF and Heavy Metal Toxicity

How does Wi-Fi, this wireless technology we’re talking about today, affect our brain? This can be best answered by pointing towards some great research that began in 2006, by Olle Johansson from the Karolinska Institute, where the Nobel Prize for medicine is awarded. He did a study on the connection between Alzheimer’s disease, which is the ultimate brain disease, and Wi-Fi. He created a map in Sweden of areas of high density Wi-Fi radiation, where the amplitude of the totality of the radiation was high in areas, versus where it was low. Then he created a map of Sweden where the highest density of Alzheimer’s disease was and he found that the two maps are absolutely identical.

It was also in 2006 when he predicted that we were going to have an avalanche of Alzheimer’s disease in the next 10 or 15 years. Two years ago, a study came out that the leading cause of death from neurological diseases is Alzheimer’s disease. It’s 80% of all neurological deaths. And by the way, it’s no longer cancer and heart disease where people are dying from. People are dying from neurological diseases. That’s the number one cause of death now in the US. In the last 20 years, there was a 663% increase in women dying from Alzheimer’s disease. In just 20 years. We are in the middle of a disaster of brain disease caused by Wi-Fi, or at least strongly contributed to our exposure to microwaves. This microwave invisible radiation from cell phones and cell phone towers are literally bombarding and frying all of us. I’m concerned about the people sleeping throughout the night with their Wi-Fi router on, and the cell phone tower nearby. It’s the 24/7 exposure that kills the brain. It’s not the one or two-hour stents you do in the hotspot.
What is the connection between autism and Wi-Fi? George Carlo may have been the first to write the paper on observing pregnant women who are exposed to higher levels of Wi-Fi. He found these women are more likely to give birth to an autistic child, or to a child that later on will be diagnosed as autistic. Or, a child that, because of the exposure, will be much more vulnerable when the vaccines come and other epigenetic, traumatic insults come.

One paper shows that when you have a certain density of Wi-Fi and other electromagnetic fields to the skin of the mother, to the body of the mother, that the womb and the membranes that surround the child, concentrate the Wi-Fi 20-fold. That means whatever measurement we do on the outside of the body, it increases 20-fold that number, inside where the fetus is. And that of course leads up to devastating numbers; devastating exposures. To speak on other countries; in China, when you are pregnant, by law you have to wear protective shielding cloth over your womb where the baby is. Policemen stop pregnant women on the street to check if they are wearing the protective silver-coated cloth.

Regarding mercury fillings in teeth, one study shows if a person has silver amalgam fillings in their mouth, that exposure to Wi-Fi actually liberates the mercury in those fillings and creates a mercury vapor. So, the filling dissolves at a much more accelerated rate and the mercury vapor stays in your central nervous system. Only 20% of that comes out of your body and 80% permanently moved from the teeth into your brain. Research by George Carlo showed that the exposure to Wi-Fi blocks, especially the enzymes, that we need for detoxification of metals. That means metals become entrapped in us the moment we’re exposed to Wi-Fi. Which, of course, is all of us. So the heavy metal toxicity, which is, as some of you know, has been my area in medical for over 40 years. It’s a huge issue. Understanding that metals in us make us vulnerable to Wi-Fi, and then Wi-Fi actually ensures that the metals stay in you. And not only that, but dissolving metals wherever they are and making them bioactive again. You know. So these are huge issues.

What about the connection between wireless technology and all of these sleep disorders that we’re hearing today? Now we’re getting to another very serious problem that people talk about all the time, and they are taking sleeping pills because of all the sleep disorders that we’re seeing. Healthcare practitioners need to talk to their patients about what their bedroom environment like. With the wireless routers, the cell phone next to the head. With so many kids out there in their teenage, and 20s, and even 30s and beyond, they’re leaving their cell phones so close to their bed. Please talk to us about the connection between wireless technology and all of these sleep disorders that we’re hearing today?

Now we are hearing so much about insomnia and very few people talk about it correctly. The insomnia that we are having now world-wide in the western world is simply an outcome of inflammation in the brain. The biggest driver of inflammation in the brain is microwaves. We have many recent studies on microwaves mentioning inflammation. The inflammatory pathways are activated in our system and then people get insomnia from the Wi-Fi, and then have metals in their brain. Metals that shouldn’t be there. And so, if you’ve been exposed as a fetus to the amalgam vapor of your mother from the mercury, then you get a couple of vaccines with mercury adjuvants and aluminum adjuvants, which end up in your brain. There’s a certain threshold. Of course, as a young person you’re outgrowing that. As long as the brain cells are duplicating, they’re diluting the metal content every time that cell divides. The next cell only has half the toxic load than the one before. So for a while, you’re kind of growing ahead of the problem. And then when you reach a certain age, the bioaccumulation increases from food sources, from vaccines, and from inhaling it. Mostly now we’re dealing with the persistent chemtrails that are raining down metals on us. It’s in the water, and it’s in the foods. The aluminum content has hugely gone up in everything.

So there’s a certain threshold and when we reach that, we will get insomnia. And then, of course, the first step is to protect the body from Wi-Fi. And we’re not even talking about cancer, but we know from studies that were done that calculate the risk. If you have the cell phone close to your ear, as long as it’s in contact with the greater field and if it’s active, the more hours in the day you’re exposed to it, the higher your cancer rates. However, that cancer comes, especially brain cancer, thyroid cancer, melanomas. They come with the delay of approximate 20-25 years. So we’re already seeing that now for our business. But I promise you, we’d be much happier to never see a patient again if this insanity stops.

There are studies out, for example, that show Wi-Fi suppresses your GABA receptors. GABA is the calming neurotransmitter. We know it causes brain inflammation, so depending on what part of the brain is inflamed, you get different symptoms. Our main treatment for insomnia is the complete protection from electromagnetic radiation. Not just Wi-Fi, but also from other sources of electromagnetic radiation. And that is usually very, very doable in most homes.

We also insist that people, when people can afford it, get the Samina Bed System. This system has a grounding pad woven into it, and uses certain natural material that absorb the moisture that the body gives off at night, and gives the moisture back off in the daytime. The reason I’m saying that is there’s a connection with insomnia and the moisture contained in your mattress, because that makes it a microwave receiver. The water content. We measured some of the bed systems, the moulding beds that are so popular. The Sleep Numbers and others. We weighed some of these mattresses when people bought it, and a year later they were up to 12 pounds heavier than they were a year before. This is all accumulated sweat that then soaks into the mattress at creates mold. There is certainly a connection with insomnia and mold exposure. Mold in the homes becomes much, much more virulent and produces many more mycotoxins when the mold exists in a Wi-Fi field, in the microwave field. So microwaves drive the growth of molds, and the molds produce a lot more spores because they also feel attacked, so they want to multiply faster. Also the mycotoxins that are released are much, much more virulent. So there is a direct connection between the wave that we have now of mold illness and Wi-Fi.

People unfortunately have not put that together. It’s not the poor mold that’s at fault here, it’s the Wi-Fi that drives the mold. So there’s a huge connection between the mold and the bedding which plays a big role in the homes. And the Wi-Fi exposure at night. So when we treat insomnia, we look at that. We look at the bedding, we look at the Wi-Fi, and we look at the metals in the brain. We need to address the three issues with a wonderful success rate, where everybody else has failed. But our treatment for insomnia starts always with shutting off the Wi-Fi, cleaning up the bedroom in many different ways, and detoxing metals from the brain. And most of the time this is successful. We’re getting people back to deep restorative sleep that way.

And lastly is the responsible use of the cell phone. We’re not so concerned about people using the cell phone because these are short, and should be relatively short exposures. However, if you are more than 1 minute on it, there is a recent study on Epstein Barr that shows a 7-minute phone call on the cell phone can permanently reactive your Epstein Barr virus. The Epstein Barr virus spells breast cancer, throat cancer, prostate cancer, malignant lymphomas, and all more. We hope you will take this knowledge and make smart choices to help reduce EMFs in your daily life.

The Benefits of Yoga

When people hear ‘yoga’ they often think of a certain type of exercise, but it is much more than that. Yoga is not just about working out, it encompasses a healthy lifestyle. Practicing yoga can help someone find stillness in their busy life. For someone with a stressful job or a full schedule, a 30 minute to 1 hour yoga session could reset their mind, body, and soul.

Yoga uses a method of deep breathing and meditation practices, which can help declutter the mind and relieve stress. At the beginning of a yoga class it is often asked for you to set an intention for yourself. This can be quietly done in the mind, as you decide if you want the class to help you focus on something more, to quiet the mind, or to simply relax the mind.

These days you can find many different variations of yoga to fit your needs. Popular examples would be hot yoga, power yoga, and prenatal yoga. There are even more unique ones like yoga raves, which is a healthy option to the normal club scene, and aerial yoga which combines aerial arts and traditional yoga by using anti-gravity silks as a way of suspending you in the air.

People also use yoga as a way of strength training and flexibility. Both of these are incredible benefits to bettering your health and body.  The postures used in yoga are meant to strengthen your body from the inside out, leaving you feeling and looking good. This starts with strengthening your core; your spine, which when used properly will alleviate back, shoulder, and neck pain. As with anything that is good for you, the more consistently you practice this, the better off you will be.

Yoga has also been found to lower heart rate and blood pressure. Since stress contributes to blood pressure and heart rate, the more you can de-stress, the better these two will be. Poses such as simple twists and side plank can help open the chest which can contribute to lowering your heart rate. Breath work is a big part of yoga, and this can be very helpful since deep breathing lowers your heart rate and helps your relax.

The great news is that yoga is generally safe for anyone to try. Of course, for pregnant women it would be best to go to a prenatal yoga class with modified poses and those with high blood pressure or sciatica may need to modify some poses to reduce the risk of injury. If you have never taken a yoga class, it is best to start with a beginner class and go at your own pace. Yoga is not a competition between others, it is about bettering yourself and doing what is best for your mind and body. Forget the saying ‘No pain, no gain’. There should be no pain in yoga.

Lastly, more and more doctors are realizing the importance and benefits of yoga and the mind-body connection. At the Inner Harmony Wellness Center, we are strong believers in the benefits of yoga and encourage people to try this method before going to medications and other means of relief. Namaste.
